Submission of Abstract Print

Applications can be made online.
Participants wishing to present a paper should submit an abstract of not more than 1,000 words by Jan 15, 2009 to the Organizing Committee. Abstracts should state clearly the purpose, methodology, results and conclusions of the work to be presented in the final paper. 3-8 key words are recommended. Papers should include author's full name, affiliations, mailing address, telephone, fax numbers and e-mail address. It is also possible to submit the abstract in electronic form. Full paper must be submitted on or before Jan 15, 2009 so that the accepted papers shall be published in sustainability series of Books to be released at the inaugural ceremony of GLOSS-2008.

Format For Paper Submissions

  • Please, submit your full papers in MS. Word
  • Length limit: approximately 5000 words for text, excluding abstract, diagrams
    tables and references
  • The first page should contain in the following order:
                               Title
                                Name(s)
                                Institutional affiliation(s)
                                Abstract
                                Keywords
  • The participants should indicate whether the paper is based on research, research methodology adopted, key findings, potential research findings influencing the policy direction and grassroot interventions.
  • The participant need to indicate how they prefer to make presentation and their audio visual requirements.

Notes

  • The Global Summit language is English. All abstracts, presentations and materials must be in English.
  • Accepted presenters will be expected to register as delegates for the Global Summit (excludes invited speakers) and to be available at the time scheduled by the organising committee.
  • Co-authors and co-presenters are acceptable.
  • Any sources of funding/commercial support associated with the submission must be acknowledged.
  • Work that has been previously presented must be acknowledged as such in the application.
  • Accepted abstracts must subsequently be provided as papers or presentations to the Organising Committee for publication in the Sustainable series of the books to be released at the inaugural ceremony of Gloss- 2008 .
  • Accepted presentations must follow the same outline as the submitted abstract.
  • The Global Summit Organising Committee reserves all rights and its decisions are final.

Selection Criteria

The following selection criteria will be applied in the decision making process:
  • Submission is received by the due date.
  • Submission is received electronically using the approved template.
  • Submission demonstrates relevance to the Gloss 2008 theme and sub-themes.
  • Title clearly introduces the technical session content.
  • Technical Session draws on evidenced based practice or makes a case for future Sustainable developments and trends.
  • Technical Session content has appeal to an international audience.
  • Technical Session applicability to the structure of the Gloss 2008 program.

Keynote Address

  • Sixty minute plenary sessions comprising forty five minutes of presentation followed by fifteen minutes of facilitated question time.
  • Keynote addresses will be aligned to the key themes of Gloss 2008
